Training Subgroup
Members of the Training Sub-group are drawn from key agencies within the LSCB. Members of the Training Sub-group are managers who able to make decisions about training for their agency and provide statistical information to support identification of the local need.
The Training Sub-group has the responsibility for ensuring appropriate training provision in Stockport . The training sub-group has an LSCB Training Sub-Committee Business Plan 2009/10 and the priorities are identified through the LSCB Business Plan.
Training Pool
Multi-agency training is mainly delivered by a Training Pool. Members of the Training Pool are drawn from experienced practitioners within the LSCB agencies.
What training is available?
Some basic training is delivered by single agencies and is advertised in the local training brochure.
The LSCB provides multi-agency training which provides opportunities for workers from different agencies to learn together, to share good practice and improve how everyone works together across agencies. Some specialist courses are facilitated by external trainers but the opportunities for improved working remain the same.
Training Programme
The programme runs from September to July each year.
What training do I need?
The training you need will depend upon the job role that you have. For some workers a basic awareness course is sufficient. If you are likely to be involved in the child protection process then you will need to attend the multi-agency courses. You should always discuss your training needs with your manager in supervision. However, the Training Sub-Committee have produced a Training Matrix to help you.
If you would like to apply for courses please use the following application form.
Please note that places are not allocated on a first come, first served basis. Courses are short-listed and places are allocated to achieve a multi-agency representation.
