Safeguarding in the Early Years

 

Early Years Training Programme 2017 -2018

The Early Years Training Programme provides a range of essential safeguarding courses for Childminders and staff working with children in early years settings .

The  courses  will enable delegates  to update their practice in  line with national and local guidance. This includes learning from local and national serious case reviews, local multiagency learning reviews  and guidance from Ofsted.

Covering  the role and responsibilities of practitioners our  courses aims to:

  • raise awareness of and support adherence  to statutory guidance
  • raise awareness of and support adherence  to local guidance and policies
  • support settings to implement and maintain robust safeguarding procedures,policies and practice
  • develop and enhance a culture of safeguarding and vigilance

The courses will provide an opportunity to explore best practice and are exclusively for Early Years staff and settings. All courses are delivered by Stockport Safeguarding Education Services Team, part of Stockport Safeguarding Children Unit .

If an establishment has not yet had access to the Early Help Assessment (EHA) training, please fill in the Stockport Common Assessment Framework for children and families (PDF 270Kb) form. If EHA training has been received, the professional must use it.

There are also new training opportunities for early years providers and staff in non-school settings:
